The TckTckTck team is in New York and we are watching, literally, the world wake up and take action on climate change.

Reports, pictures, and articles are streaming in from around the world as the more than 2,400 Global Wake Up Call events happen. They are taking place in more than one hundred and twenty countries and we are watching pictures of everyday citizens making the call in Beijing, in monasteries in Nepal, and from rural towns in Australia.

Global Wake Up Photostream

The diversity of the participants and the response they are getting from their calls is truly awe inspiring.

You can check out below a live feed of all the photos that are streaming in, ranging from simple photos of everyday citizens making the call and getting a response, to groups gathering and taking a photo or performing a flash mob in public places. Have you made the call yet? You can find the numbers of your political leaders, here.

The political impact of the wake up call is already being felt, by governments around the world, as hundreds of amazing actions happen and calls stream into minister's offices. We have been watching the reports stream in, at the Avaaz Hub , and we have been getting incredible updates, like this one.

We heard from one caller who got through directly to the Australian Environment Minister Penny Wong:  "I don't think I was the only person to ring her as she seemed to understand what this was about and said okay she'd pass on the message [to Kevin Rudd], she sounded weary".

At many ministries, they have been getting so many phone calls they have put in automated recordings or put extra people on the switchboard. Do these call make a difference, though? Here is message from our partner Avaaz.org, about how effective these calls are:

Calling All Leaders

In recent weeks, we've stunned national governments, heads of state and political parties with sudden barrages of thousands of calls. These phonecalls tie up staff and shut down phone lines -- but they are never missed, and time after time, we're finding, they work. 14,000 calls reversed the Brazilian President's position on a new climate protection law, 3,000 calls persuaded the German Chancellor's party to engage with climate groups, just a few hundred calls got the attention of top advisors to French President Sarkozy.

Now what about you? If you haven't yet signed up for the Global Wake Up Call yet, and it's still before noon in your time zone, go and join your local Wake Up Call.
