A new campaign called 10:10 UK was launched today with the aim of signing up people, companies and organizations who will commit to reducing their carbon footprint 10% by 2010. The founder of this ambitious project is Franny Armstrong who also happens to be the Director of the new climate change film, The Age of Stupid. If you haven't heard of the Age of Stupid, check out the trailer here - its looks like a great film. The Age of Stupid is also a TckTckTck partner organization. The 10:10 launch at the Tate Modern in London saw thousands of people sign on to the pledge. Armstrong says in a Reuters article covering the launch that, "It is not extreme environmentalism, you don't have to be cycling round in sandals... If we don't cause massive social change in the next few months then it is about all over for life on earth." If our "I'm ready" petition is any indication, I think it is safe to say that Armstrong definitely isn't the only one who thinks that climate change is an issue that we all need to deal with right away - in less than a week TckTckTck and our great partner organizations have amassed over 964,417 people who are ready and in turn want world leaders to be ready in Copenhagen to sign an ambitious, fair and binding climate change treaty. As the Reuters article points out, there's a lot of activity going on this Fall and "10:10 is one of a number of campaigns being launched ahead of the Copenhagen negotiations. 'TckTckTck' -- a global campaign -- was launched in the last week of August to urge governments to agree on a tough climate agreement." So we here at TckTckTck have launched and 10:10's launched,we're both ready to push hard this Fall. So I guess the only question left is: Are you ready too?
