On the weekend of December 12, TckTckTck and our partners will gather citizens in every corner of the world for our next massive global day of action. Our message is clear: at the Copenhagen climate summit, the world wants a real deal!
At very middle of the Copenhagen negotiations, people like you around the world will organize thousands of candlelight vigils, as well as marches, "signature walls", and other positive events over the entire weekend.
TckTckTck and our partners, including the Elders, will present this global movement via photos, videos, pledges, and stories at a special vigil, happening right outside the summit building. Our partners Avaaz, 350.org, Greenpeace, WWF, Oxfam and others are all working to promote turnout worldwide to ensure that negotiators get the message loud and clear.
In the spirit of our September 21 Global Wake Up Call and 350.org's International Day of Climate Action on Oct 24, this next and perhaps most important global day of action will bring together a diverse range of groups and individuals, from religious groups, university and grade school students, indigenous peoples, clean energy and technology enthusiasts, environmentalists, economists, politicians and everyone in between who wants strong action to safeguard the climate for generations to come.
Events will include public "signature walls" and evening candlelight vigils where we will gather in silence to show our support for a climate deal. The vigils will also send a strong message that people everywhere stand in solidarity with the citizens of the nations whose very survival is threatened by the climate crisis. These nations are calling for a “survival pact,” urging commitments by the developed world to cut emissions enough to return the atmospheric concentration of CO2 back to 350ppm, a level which the world’s top scientists say will protect all nations from runaway climate chaos.
Join the global day of action this December 12*. Sign up to organize or attend an event near you. Or visit our partners' sign-up pages: Avaaz, 350.org.
* Events are planned to take place at various times throughout the first week of the Copenhagen climate summit - check your local listings for details.

We are already in Bad shape. From Africa, We suffer more of the effects of wrong decisions and lack of commitment to the right decision that affect ourlivelihood, via our environment and the changing climate. For long things have been silent, or talked on a lower tone. This time round we we have tried our45 best. Our leaders . Are you going to watch us die. Africa is watching

What's the Message??
Friends,
You say the message is clear, we want a real deal. What is clear about that? The governments can claim that anything is a real deal. I have been an active representative at the UN Commission on Sustainable Development for the past 12 years and I can tell you that you need a much more specific message and goal if you want the governments to pay any attention at all. How about a deal that is sufficient to make a rapid transition to a renewable energy future, with say 80% renewables by 2020 or instead at least 30% by 2020 and 80% by 2040 and 95% by 2050.
Or we could say $10B a year for the first 3 years, $25 B a year after that and rising to $100 B a year by 2020 to support the developing world in transitioning to renewables with a designated means and mechanism for financing. Or maybe you could say no new coal plants without accompanying carbon sequestration. Or perhaps a global carbon tax. But please we need something substantial and specific. Even a specific plan and review process to roll back CO2 to 350 ppm by 2020 would be better than just calling for a Real Deal.
I would appreciate an answer. Thank you,

dec 11-13 actions
the no. of vigil events is low in the u.s. this is not an indication of indifference, but one of belief that we are way past the time for vigils. much more insistent, confrontational actions are called for.
we will be in the streets, governmental offices, trenches soon, you'll see. if our politicians won't change their actions, we must.
