Christian Aid is a development agency that works in more than 50
countries. We work globally for profound change that eradicates the
causes of poverty, striving to achieve equality, dignity and freedom for
all, regardless of faith or nationality.

Countdown to Copenhagen is the global campaign of church based
development and humanitarian agencies across Europe and the world. We
work as a member of this network and as part of the wider movement for
social justice campaigning on climate change. The campaign is based on a
collective call for climate justice and a fair and equitable deal for
the world's poor.

People in poor countries are suffering first and worst from climate
change, but they have done the least to cause the problem. If a strong
and fair deal is to be achieved, we need to put pressure on rich
countries to achieve at least 40% in domestic carbon emissions by 2020
and also ensure that developing countries have all the support and
resources necessary to reduce their emissions, develop cleanly and adapt
to climate change.

The Countdown to Copenhagen campaign encourages people from all over the
word to take our pledge to demand an ambitious and equitable climate
deal in Copenhagen, in December - www.countdowntocopenhagen.org.
