On Monday, citizens at over 2,400 events in 130 countries around the world will be calling their leaders to ask them to take action on climate change, for the Global Wake Up Call.
In fact, Wake Up events are already happening in Asia, as you can see with this photo taken today in Wellington, New Zealand (find more below).
Not sure how to phone your leader? Use our Leaders Widget to find their phone number! The plan is for us all to phone them at 12:18, if you're part of an event, or call whenever you can, it's important that our voices get through.
Call your leader now—you can select your country from the list at right, and the numbers will appear. Be polite but firm; leave a message urging your leader to travel to Copenhagen for the climate talks in December and sign a fair, ambitious, and binding climate treaty! If you went to an event, post a note about it below, and email photos or video to photos@avaaz.org (or upload here).
And if you make a phone call—post a message on Avaaz' campaign hub about who you called and what happened. If you keep getting a busy signal, that's a good sign: it means our global wake-up calls are flooding the lines, and our message is getting through!
And if you want to watch the action as it happes, Avaaz' Wake Up hub is also a great place to watch photos, stories, videos, and stories roll in live from across the planet. The global climate movement is here. And the leaders had better listen to our call.
