Global Leaders Get Wake-Up Call By Protesters In Pittsburgh

Global leaders got a "wake-up call" by protesters Monday in downtown Pittsburgh. It was part of a climate demonstration.

At 12:18 p.m. on the dot, 100 cell phone alarms went off simultaneously, sending a wake-up call to get talks on track for a new climate treaty.

Huge media coverage for Global Climate Wake Up Call

Wow. It's been quite a day. Over 2,682 events were held in 134 countries today to wake up the world to climate change.

Organized by TckTckTck partners and amazing individuals from every walk of life, the Global Climate Wake Up Call garnered a monsterous amount of news coverage - there will be very few world leaders that will pick up their local newspaper or turn on their local news channel and NOT see people in the streets telling them to wake up and be the leaders we need them to be on this important issue.

The Wake Up Call in pictures

As we've mentioned, the Global Wake Up Call consisted of 2682 events in 134 countries today. Many of the participants, from Nepal to New Jersey, sent in their photos to TckTckTck partner Avaaz.
