WASHINGTON — Just a month after world leaders fashioned a tentative and nonbinding agreement at the climate change summit meeting in Copenhagen, the deal already appears at risk of coming undone, the top United Nations climate official warned on Wednesday.

Delegates at Climate Vulnerable Forum call on world leaders to attend Copenhagen Summit

Heads of State and Ministers from eleven nations that are most vulnerable to climate change are calling for U.S. President Barack Obama and the leaders of major emerging economies such as India and China, to personally attend the Copenhagen Climate Summit this December and “redouble their efforts at reaching a binding, ambitious, fair and effective agreement.”

100 World Lawmakers Agree to Take Climate Action Now

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, October 26, 2009 (ENS) - Legislators from 16 of the world's major economies and most major political parties have agreed on key guiding principles to enact climate change legislation in their home countries that will drive the move to a global low carbon economy. Meeting this weekend, the lawmakers agreed to act right now in their own legislative bodies, even before the key UN climate deal in Copenhagen, now just six weeks away.
